I hope you are doing well and staying safe. Everyone is going through a lot. But while we are lucky to have the means and resources to get through this lockdown, the students from Salaam Bombay, living in Mumbai's slums, aren't as lucky. Social distancing in a tiny room with six or seven people? Impossible. Most slums are containment zones and many come from daily wage earning families. They are staring hunger in the face.

I know we are all finding it hard to stay positive while maintaining a lack of physical contact. So here is something to lift all our spirits and help those who aren't as fortunate as us.

WE 2020 is going online!

This year WE will be a live-streamed concert on a digital platform. All the songs performed will have to be feel-good songs and recorded live from your homes.

So if you want to be a part of our show this year, send in a video of you performing.

• The video you submit if selected will be the final video that is used in the show; so make sure the sound and video quality is good.
• Your video should not be more than 2 to 2.5 minutes long (max 2.5 mins).
• The songs must be feel-good which means that it leaves you feeling positive and happy.
• All songs must be live, no backing tracks. You can choose to collaborate with others if you can edit and put the video together.
• You must send us your video by midnight on Sunday 17th May.
• Please follow all criteria above to maximise your chance of being selected.
• Keep in mind that if multiple people choose the same song, we can only pick one of them, so try to choose a song that isn't too popular.

Voice and acoustic instruments can just be a recording through a phone or a basic earphone/headphone microphone.

Yohan Marshall and I will also be holding a zoom meeting on Tuesday evening to answer any questions you may have about how to record, what song to record, etc. The details of this meeting will follow soon.
