Gaurav brings over 20 years of experience across the corporate and development sectors, with a career deeply rooted in the skill development ecosystem since the inception of the National Skill Development Mission in 2009. Over his ten years with Salaam Bombay Foundation, he has played a key role in shaping and expanding the organisation's work.
His experience in building innovative skilling models, developing industry partnerships and creating pathways to livelihoods brings a strong understanding of how young people can move from education to economic opportunity. He continues to provide leadership to the Foundation's programmes, drawing on his extensive experience to strengthen their growth and impact.
Gaurav is also a visiting faculty member at NMIMS, Mumbai, where he teaches Corporate Social Responsibility. He holds an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship from NMIMS, Mumbai, and a B.Tech in Electronics from NIT Allahabad.
Tshering Doma Bhutia
Co-CEO & Director
Tshering is a development-sector leader with over 20 years of experience across social development, public health, communications and advocacy, including more than 14 years with Salaam Bombay Foundation. Her experience spans organisational leadership, programme development, strategic planning, partnerships, communications and resource management.
Over the course of her career, she has led large-scale programmes, built cross-sector and international partnerships, convened national and global dialogues, and worked closely with government, civil society, media and public health organisations to drive social change. Her strength lies in bringing together strategy, people, communication and partnerships to translate ideas into meaningful and sustainable impact.
Tshering holds a Master’s degree in Broadcasting Journalism, a Postgraduate Programme in Social Entrepreneurship Management and a Certificate in Global Tobacco Control from Johns Hopkins University, USA. With a career rooted in both communications and social development, she brings a distinctive ability to connect people, ideas and purpose to advance organisational growth and impact.
Asha Monterio
General Manager - Finance
Asha is a consummate finance professional with more than 20 years of experience in the development sector. She joined Salaam Bombay Foundation in 2008 and has since been a valuable member of the team, handling all financial aspects of the organisation. Asha's role includes financial accounting, budgeting, donor reporting, treasury management, and statutory reporting.
She has played a key role in implementing financial strategies and streamlining accounting processes, ensuring compliance with Income Tax, Companies Act, and FCRA regulations. Salaam Bombay Foundation has won the GuideStar India Transparency Key Award four times under her leadership.
Dr. Manasi Bawdekar
Vice President - Research and M&E
Dr. Manasi has over 20 years of rich experience in the field of Statistics, Demography and Research. Her area of expertise includes Quantitative and Qualitative Research and Monitoring and Evaluation. She has a doctorate in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai with Masters in Statistics from the University of Pune followed by Masters in Population Studies from IIPS, Mumbai.
She has to her credit presentations and publications in both national and international conferences and journals.
RAJASHREE KADAM
Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP Arts & Media
Rajashree brings with her 24 years of experience in the development sector, specifically health. With the Foundation for 2 decades, she has overseen and is responsible for the growth of the Arts and Media Academy, tobacco control-health and hygiene programme in Rural India. She has spearheaded Salaam Mumbai Foundation’s foray into other Indian states.
Rajashree holds a Masters in Social Sciences from Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work.
SMRUTI KASULWAR
Chief Culture & Synergy Officer and SVP HR
Smruti is the group HR Head of Salaam Bombay Foundation & Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation. Her 20+ years of business acumen spans across the Corporate and Development Sectors. Smruti has led trendsetting Social Sector HR initiatives in policy design, talent management, compliance etc to create a happy & motivated workplace. She has also championed DEI, Health & wellness programs, leading to awards like GreatPlaceToWork, top10 NGOs in India, Best Workplace for Women & Arogyaworld HealthyWorkplace.
Smruti’s thought leadership has led to her recognition as one of India's Top HR Minds and she was a recipient of the “HR 100 under Forty” Award.
Smruti holds an MBA from The Institute of Technology and Management.
Tasnim Motorwala
Assistant General Manager – Head of Resource Mobilisation
Tasnim Motorwala is a seasoned professional, with over 15 years of experience in the Development Sector. She has contributed to organizations such as Concern India Foundation, Life Trust, Masoom, Population First, Tata Medical Center, and Salaam Bombay Foundation. Tasnim is deeply committed and passionate about promoting education and raising funds to provide vocational skills to youth in India. Prior to transitioning to the non-profit sector, she has worked as a business news editor for over a decade.
Tasnim holds a post-graduate degree in Journalism from Xavier Institute of Communications, a Masters in History from the University of Mumbai, and a Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship from NMIMS.
Savio Pashana
Assistant General Manager – Head of Communications
Savio brings over 14+ years of rich experience in marketing, brand strategy, and creative leadership across media, BFSI, FMCG, and retail sectors. Having led communication and digital initiatives for brands like Comedy Central India, MTV India, Colors Infinity, and more, he has a deep understanding of building compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. His expertise spans campaign development, online and offline marketing, and creative ideation.
At Salaam Bombay Foundation, Savio is responsible for strengthening the organisation’s voice across platforms, amplifying impact, and fostering meaningful engagement with stakeholders through clear, consistent, and purpose-driven communication.
